2016 Hanyu Qiao Competition

The 9th annual Hanyu Qiao competition was held on June 9-10 2016 at the University of Adelaide.
Hosted by the Confucius Institute with support from Hanban, the Chinese Embassy in Australia, the Hong Kong Australia Business Association (SA) and Finlaysons Lawyers, the event was exceptionally well-attended with a diverse crowd of over 250 school teachers, students, parents, and VIPs.

在汉语桥中,成长

澳大利亚阿德莱德大学孔子学志愿者 李潇娇
我尝试去寻找自己在去年汉语桥比赛的影子,却不曾有一张照片出现自己的正面面孔。那时候,我和同伴李康在台下,只能帮助选手准备比赛器材;那时候,刚到澳大利亚,在努力寻找工作的位置;那时候,从来不会想到,一年之后的这一天,我可以站在同样的舞台上,用英语,主持整场比赛。
一位第二次来参加汉语桥的学生对我说:你看,在汉语桥中,我们都在成长。
阿德莱德大学孔子学院是一所特别的孔院,因为隶属于已经开设汉语课长达三十多年的大学,孔子学院本身没有汉语教学任务,所做工作主要是主办各种推广中国文化的活动,帮助大学生提高汉语学习、申请奖学金等。并且,澳大利亚对于教师资格审查严格,因此,作为第一批到达阿大孔子学院的志愿者,“我们需要做什么?”是一个很难的话题。
“ 我是孔院的一块砖”的日子
于是从整理图书开始,需要贴活动宣传海报的时候,我在;需要站在礼堂门口迎接客人的时候,我在;需要给学生买奖品的时候,我在;需要外出运送物品的时候,我在。我这样一块新出炉的砖,和大家一起建设这所南澳州唯一的孔子学院。
及至后来,我们从前辈老师手里接过了到中小学推广中国文化的活动,并且加以扩大。不断有中小学老师预约我们,每天不停的奔波在城市的各个角落,体验了不同的学校,也了解了这个可爱的城市。
逐渐的,我接过了写新闻报告的任务,接过了帮助大学生组织中国文化俱乐部的任务,接过了帮助学生联系申请奖学金的任务,依旧穿梭于各个中小学之间,只是,我这样的一块砖,已经找到了自己应该在的地方。当我独自在孔院值班,下班关灯锁门的时候,尤其感到:我是这里的主人,我是这个办公室团队的一员。
“这一年,我得到了好多,好多”
在准备澳大利亚中学生汉语桥使馆赛区决赛的会议上,同事建议由我来担任比赛的英文主持,一名澳大利亚的本地学生来担任中文主持,用这样的“语言交换”来吸引观众。
我,可以吗?
要面对近200名观众,其中包括来自使馆的老师们,来自本地政府的议员,来自其他州的学生和老师;要用英语完成4个小时的比赛全程,其中包括复杂的文艺表演描述。
我,可以吗?
尤其是比赛前一个月因为研究生毕业的手续,我都会在国内,回到阿德莱德之后只有一周时间去准备主持的中英文稿和排练。
我,可以吗?
我,真的可以。
当我在台上轻松的用唱出“甜蜜蜜”的方式来介绍选手的文艺表演项目时,当我看到亲切的张院长、王院长以及学生观众们被我逗乐了时,当我即使出现说错了台词都能轻松纠正时,当比赛后现场的老华侨们拉着我拍照,并且说:我们真的骄傲啊!
于是我知道,我真的可以!
于是我也知道,这一年,我得到了好多,好多。
成长,真正的成长是,自己从一个做了20多年的学生的角色,转换到工作角色,感觉到,我长大了,真的成人了。
从本地同事们的身上,我也看到了不同于国内的工作方式,澳大利亚人的“懒”其实告诉了我:你原来可以轻轻松松做好很多事情,只要条理分明。
一个非汉语国际教育专业的学生,现在可以轻松的站在异国学校的讲台上;一个非英语专业的学生,现在可以用英语工作交流,主持大型比赛;一个汉办外派志愿者,我可以称职的担任工作。
你说,我不是在成长吗?

Chinese Prizes

On May 6 the Confucius Institute held its annual award ceremony for the Confucius Institute Chinese Language Prizes.

Seven students from beginners to advanced classes were recognised for their outstanding achievements studying Chinese at the University of Adelaide’s Centre for Asian Studies.
