Adelaide Vinnies Needs Project Managers!

An opportunity for Project Management students to obtain real world experience and help out a great charity in the process!

Vinnies has just purchased a new warehouse/distribution centre/office complex at Wingfield, replacing the office/warehouse/s currently in use at Kidman Park. All warehousing storage, transport, sorting and small office functions need to be relocated to the new site.

Vinnies is looking for someone to draw up and assist with a project plan for the move, and provide some guidance/assistance in project management. Vinnies are specifically looking for assistance with the overall planning of the move and to draw up a plan and make recommendations on how to go about it, as well as overseeing any difficulties, particularly, looking at logistics and transportation planning (getting ‘stuff’ from A to B) in an ordered and efficient manner.

This is a coordination role sitting across the top of the whole project, looking after lots of little bits and pieces, and ensuring that there is an appropriate recording and reporting system as part of the process. This is a time dependent project and the timing is tight. Access to the new property should be available by 21st Oct, and the entire move needs to be completed by the first week in December 2011.

If you are interested in tackling a real world project, and you would like to assist the St Vincent de Paul Society in its work, please contact Lindsay Dunn, State Manager – Vinnies. Ph: 0419 867 608
