ECIC Alumni Wins ClimateSmart Sustainability Award

Congratulations to the Buyequip team and Master of Science and Technology Commercialisation graduate Jamie Miller on winning the 2011 ClimateSmart Small Business Award. This award, presented by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, is given to a small business (with less than 50 employees) for achievement and leadership in adopting sustainability practices that reduce its environmental impact and strengthen its commercial viability.

Jamie was a recipient of a Graduate Entrepreneurial  Program (GEP) scholarship through the ECIC’s Thebarton Business Incubator (ThIncLab) and  is now director of Buyequip, a Brisbane-based recycler of used IT equipment, established to assist clients reduce their carbon footprint for financial gain.
