Blood. Sweat. Tears. Idea.

Here is a great opportunity for University of Adelaide students as well as past and current eChallenge participants to gain valuable experience in the commercialisation process, and win start-up funding and technical support to commercialise your idea!

Hills Australia, the creators of the iconic Hills Hoist, aims to encourage the next generation of innovators and support them to succeed. To achieve this, Hills, in a $5 million, 3 year partnership with the South Australian Government have established two centres of development excellence, the Lance Hill Design Centre and Hills D-Shop. Twice a year, these centres hold the Hills Pitch Day where teams can pitch their idea, project or start up to request funding or support.

To get involved in Hills Pitch Day, the first step is to head to the website and download an application form. Applications close Friday 17 October 2014. There are three types of Pitch Day applications:
• Those seeking funding ideas, projects or start-ups within Australia.
• Those working on new projects with collaborating partners – the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and UniSA.
• Applicants from DSTO.

Those working on projects in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
• Health and aged care or assisted living.
• Lifestyle and wellbeing (wearable devices).
• Security and safety.
• Data analytics.
• Automation and smart home.
• Communications and mobility.

Successful applicants will be invited to pitch your project or idea to the Innovation Centre Panel on 12 November 2014. During this 10 -15 minute presentation, the panel may ask questions and provide feedback on the spot. From there, it’s in the hands of the Innovation Centre, who will notify you if you application is successful.
