2012 ZEN eChallenge Winners

The winners of South Australia’s premier student business planning competition, the ZEN eChallenge, were announced on Friday 26 October at a black tie awards dinner at the National Wine Centre of Australia. Over 340 people from the University of Adelaide and South Australia’s business community attended the event, which included a mini-showcase and elevator pitch from the ZEN eChallenge finalists.

Entrepreneurship is essential to the future growth of South Australia, and at the heart of entrepreneurship is determination, enthusiasm and courage.  The ZEN eChallenge takes these raw materials and channels them into investment ready, early stage companies.

Guest speakers included Richard Turner, CEO of ZEN Energy Systems and Naming sponsor of the 2012 ZEN eChallenge, and Raymond Spencer, Entrepreneur and Chair of the South Australian Economic Development Board.

All the teams were fantastic this year, making judging very difficult. Congratulations to Bkclb on winning first prize. Second prize went to My Wine World, and third to Intrn (Elektiv), who also won the Vroom Award. The People’s Choice Award was won by FitUsIn, who also won the Diamond in the Rough Award. The Commercialisation Encouragement Prize went to Liquid Larrikins.

A big thank you to our sponsors, mentors, judges, teams and everyone else who helped make the 2012 ZEN eChallenge such a resounding success. We look forward to helping South Australia nurture its future innovators and entrepreneurs in 2013.

Photos of the evening will be available on Facebook soon.
