Economic History Book Published by HUP
Professor Richard Pomfret’s most recent book has recently been published by Harvard University Press: The Age of Equality: The Twentieth Century in Economic Perspective. The book follows the story of the development of free-wheeling capitalism in the 20th Century, and the threats it faced from the competing systems of planned economic development unfolding within the communist and fascist nations. Further information can be found on Amazon and a short book review on the Foreign Affairs website.
Richard Pomfret is a seasoned author, having published some 17 previous titles on a range of topics with an emphasis on international trade and the Asian economies. He has acted as adviser to the Australian government and to international organizations such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and United Nations Development Program.
