Who Killed The Somerton Man? School research project featured in Herald Sun

An artist's impression of what the Unknown Man, whose body was discovered on Somerton Beach in 1948, might have looked like when he was alive.

Victoria’s Herald Sun newspaper featured a research project headed up by the University of Adelaide’s School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Professor Derek Abbott. The project is investigating the 1948 death of an anonymous man found on Somerton Beach south of Adelaide. Among the clues found was a piece of paper found on the man’s body which linked him to a copy of a book which held a coded secret message. Part of Prof. Abbott’s research has involved trying to crack the code to help identify the man.
