Debate: Should Australia embrace a nuclear future?

Ben Heard, Doctoral Candidate at the University of Adelaide recently spoke at a briefing session at the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE).

The session debated the pros and cons and policy around the peaceful use of nuclear power by Australia.

Ben Heard discussed the case for nuclear power – should Australia prepare to consider nuclear to meet its energy requirements?

The case against nuclear power was discussed by Associate Professor Mark Diesendorf from the University of New South Wales, and safety concerns were explored by Dr Robert Floyd from the Australian Safeguards and Non-proliferation office.
