Did You Know Today Is Europe Day?

To celebrate this special occasion, Adelaide Law School and the EU Centre for Global Affairs have organised a Public Seminar to celebrate Europe Day and mark the 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, the treaty that created the European Economic Community (EEC).

An interdisciplinary panel of academic speakers will discuss the importance of the Treaty of Rome and “What is the Future of the European Union?’ in light of the forthcoming exit of Britain from the European Union. Further details are available HERE.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, the Historical Archives of the European Union has launched a travelling exhibition: Ever Closer Union – The legacy of the Treaties of Rome for Today’s Europe (1957-2017). The exhibition is organised in collaboration with the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the National News Agency ANSA. The exhibition is available online HERE.
