On the occasion of the inaugural EU-Australia Leadership Forum that is taking place is Sydney, Australia on 2-6 June, 2017 the Australian Institute of International Affairs on behalf of the EU-Australia Leadership Forum published “The EU and Australia: Shared Opportunities and Common Challenges”.

This publication was designed to give an overview of the main themes of the EU-Australia relationship, from European, Australian and sometimes joint perspectives. For each theme a timeline of milestones of the EU-Australia relationship as well as some interesting statistics is presented.

Trade & Investment section of the document also features a blog on “Trade and investment between the EU and Australia” by the Director of the EU Centre for Global Affairs, Jane Drake-Brockman and a blog on “EU-Australia free trade talks: services essential” by the Managing Director of the European Services Forum, Pascal Kerneis.
