2017 ABR Gender Fellowship

2017 ABR Gender Fellowship

Australian Book Review is pleased to reopen the ABR Gender Fellowship following the non-awarding of the Fellowship in the first round. We seek proposals for a substantial article on any aspect of gender in Australian literature (any genre). We have broadened the criteria and we welcome proposals from writers, commentators, and specialists with diverse interests and expertise.

Applications for the ABR Gender Fellowship are open to any Australian writer with a publication record (books, creative writing, essays, or journalism). The Fellow’s article will appear in the print magazine and ABR Online. Contributors to the magazine and previous applicants are encouraged to apply.

Please see our website for application guidelines, as well as additional information about the ABR Fellowship program, including Frequently Asked Questions, and to read essays by past Fellows.

The ABR Gender Fellowship is worth $7,500.
Closing date: The deadline for applications is 1 May 2017. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their proposals with the Editor before submitting them.

ABR gratefully acknowledges the support of Emeritus Professor Anne Edwards AO.
