Australian Aboriginal Digitalisation Project

The South Australian Museum’s collection of Australian Aboriginal Material Culture is the most significant of its kind in the world. It holds important objects from all regions of Australia and boasts an unparalleled depth, both historically and geographically.

With the support of Newmont Asia Pacific and the Department of State Development, the Museum is digitising this extraordinary collection so that it can be respectfully shared with communities, students and researchers, as well as opening doors to a global audience keen to discover the richness of Australia’s Aboriginal heritage.

The Museum is looking for volunteers to help them achieve this project. Task-specific training will be provided.
