The inaugural South Australian Team Fusion Health Challenge event was held on the 20 July at Flinders University and was won by an interdisciplinary student team from the University of Adelaide. The School of Nursing was ably represented by third year Bachelor of Nursing students Ruth Currie (Team Orange) and Rachel Edwards (Team Red). Together with students from medicine, dentistry and health sciences the teams presented a passionate and well constructed response to a case (scenario) that required careful consideration of person centred care and interdisciplinary communication. The close contest saw Team Orange emerge victorious and win the opportunity to compete in the national finals in Queensland which was held on 31 August.
ClinEDSA have been very helpful in their support for the students to attend the national event. This event could become a good opportunity to extend interdisciplinary learning opportunities throughout the Faculty of Health Sciences.
