The Faculty of the Professions are looking for Business and Finance students who have participated in an overseas exchange.

The Business School are looking for a few people to participate in a short 60 second video for the Business School website promoting exchange/study tours. This video will potentially also be shown at other promotional events, but its main purpose is for the website.

The 60 seconds will include a group of students sitting together for a ‘coffee catch-up’ chatting about their exchange/study tour experience.

We want it to be a friendly and natural catch up (not a forced speech with a script). That being said, we do want participants to be enthusiastic and engaging. It’s not a sales pitch but rather genuine positive experiences and recommendations!

If you are happy to participate it would just require a quick initial meeting next week and then we would try and organise the filming in the next couple of weeks in the Nexus 10 building (exact time to be advised – most likely to be a Monday or Tuesday). Filming will take about an hour. Everyone who participates in the video will get a $20 iTunes card for their time.

Some of the sorts of questions we might prompt you with are things like:

Why did you get involved in the exchange/study tour?

What was the best part of the exchange/study tour?

How do you think the experience will benefit you in your future career?

Was it easy to get involved? Did you get any funding assistance or other support?

Would you recommend it to others?

The university tries to ensure there are a lot of options for study tours and exchanges, with the flexibility of trips that go for 3 weeks up to a year. We might ask you to comment on these different options – why you chose the one you did, for example.

If you would like to participate in the video please email Sasha to organise a quick 15 minute catch up next week in the glass room next to the cafe in the nexus 10 building. Please state which of the following times you are able to attend:

Monday 8 October: 10am, 12:30pm
Tuesday 9 October: 2pm, 4:30pm

If you would like to participate in the video but none of the above times are suitable, email and we will see if we can accommodate another time. It will depend on the interest we get. We are looking for people who can be relaxed on camera and contribute to the discussion. Could you also advise if you are a domestic or international student as we need to ensure a balance in the video.

We will notify you after the meeting if you have been selected for the video.

Thank you!
