Retail Sales March 2017

South Australian retail sales were quite healthy in the first quarter of 2017. Data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics today indicate that the volume of South Australian retail turnover rose by 0.5 per cent in the March quarter 2017. In comparison, national retail turnover rose by 0.3 per cent.

The latest monthly data, which are only available in value terms, indicate that South Australian retail turnover in trend terms rose by 0.3 per cent in March 2017, while national sales were flat. Seasonally adjusted data do hint at a possible easing in the recent momentum in South Australian retail sales.
