AdelaideX is pleased to announce that it has launched its first MicroMasters® program – an open online graduate level series of courses that will allow learners to potentially earn credit towards a Master of Data Science at the University of Adelaide.
The Big Data MicroMasters® program includes four massive open online courses (MOOCs) plus a capstone assessment that are designed for career advancement. They offer skills and knowledge in areas that are in demand from employers globally and applicable to a range of industries.
Learners taking the Big Data MicroMasters® program will find out how to analyse and use big data for business decision making. They will develop skills in programming for data science, computational thinking, algorithm design, big data fundamentals and data driven analysis.
Once learners have successfully completed the Big Data MicroMasters® program, they will be granted 12 units of credit – 25% of the 48 units of course – should they be successful in gaining admission to the Master of Data Science planned for a 2018 start.
The Big Data MicroMasters® courses, which will all be offered as self-paced, can be taken in any order, but AdelaideX has launched with Programming for Data Science. The rest of the courses and their launch dates are listed below.
Computational Thinking and Big Data 8 September 2017
Big Data Fundamentals 24 October 2017
Big Data Analytics 1 December 2017
Big Data Capstone 1 December 2017
