The University recently hosted nine Children’s University Adelaide graduation ceremonies.
SA Education Minister Susan Close was the guest speaker at one of the ceremonies, where she spoke about the importance of self-directed learning beyond the classroom.
The Children’s University concept offers superior educational experiences outside of school for children aged 7 to 14 years, and volunteering opportunities for those aged 15-18 years. The achievements of participants are recognised through the presentation of certificates at a graduation ceremony.
In 2017, 1,750 participants attended nine graduation ceremonies across Australia, the largest number of graduates to date. The graduation ceremonies are an important celebration of the children’s participation in the program, and their commitment to their own learning beyond the classroom.
