Mainstreet SA aims to reinforce their vision through recognising that our Mainstreets are ‘Living Spaces’ giving us, their ‘custodians’, a sense of meaning, reminding us of our past and inspiring us for our future. By promoting our mainstreets as the beating heart of our communities we will reinforce that most important, quintessential quality of ‘Place’.
Congratulation to the student team of Victoria, Jessica, Ross and Kelly won the Best Student Main Street Project Prize at the Main St SA Awards night. The students were taught the mechanics and importance of Main St evaluation by Dr Susan Shannon, Natalya Boujenko within the Urbanism: Critique, Policy, Practice Course, (with Dr Jennifer Bonham and Geography). The winning students evaluated Walkerville Tce. The Judges “felt that the Walkerville Tce Project contains a good overall analysis and assessment, and a very good use of maps and diagrams to consolidate the research into a comprehensive report and a great use of future Link and Place designations; overall an excellent presentation”.
Victoria Masterman, Ross Oates and Jessica Lewig with Natalya Boujenko (absent Kelly Nguyen).
All students with Dr Susan Shannon and Natalya Boujenko.
