The Department of Women’s Studies at the University of Adelaide was officially lanched by Anne Summers in 1992. On the 14th August, 2012, exactly 20 years after its innaugaration, the Dicsipline of Gender, Work and Social Inquiry hosted a 20 Year Anniversary Celebration.
The event recognised the continued contribution of Women’s Studies to education and scholarship in the School of Social Sciences at The University of Adelaide. It was also an opportunity for the disicpline to launch its new name: ‘Gender Studies and Social Analysis.’ The new Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Warren Bebbington was present and unveiled the new name.
