Projects Abroad currently have a vacancy for a full-time “Programme Advisor and Marketing Officer”.
Projects Abroad arranges volunteer and internship placements in 28 developing countries. With a global staff of 500 we support over 1000 settings including schools, children’s homes, human rights projects, conservation work and healthcare placements.
The Australian office, based in Adelaide, is seeking to recruit a team member to work in marketing, communications, advising prospective volunteers, event co-ordination and making presentations to interested groups.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written), experience and aptitude in marketing, be a confident public speaker, proactive, creative and passionate about working in a useful and sustainable capacity in developing and emerging countries. It is likely that the successful candidate will also have travelled as a volunteer and will understand the experience first-hand.
The role will involve:
- Working with prospective volunteers to establish the most appropriate programme for them and to help them in planning and preparation
- Promoting the programmes through events and public speaking; creating web content, printed material, newsletters and social media copy
- Developing and maintaining relationships with partner organisations
- Assisting, within a small team, the smooth and effective day to day running of an international organisation
