Master of Business Administration – New Director in 2012

The Business School is happy to announce that Mr Damian Scanlon is going to join the School as the new MBA Director in 2012. 

Mr Scanlon is currently the Chief Operating Officer for RiAus, responsible for the practical implementation of the RiAus vision, as set out by the Council and Director, to ensure that all parts of RiAus are run in line with the very best management practices.

Mr Scanlon has had more than 15 years senior executive experience, working for major Australian publicly listed companies, mainly in the aviation and mineral processing industries, with short stints in the banking and oil industries early in his career. Positions he has held include executive management, including CEO, and board positions in subsidiary companies requiring extensive travel throughout Australia, Europe, North America and Asia. His roles have seen him based in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Mr Scanlon has also worked in small business when he left the corporate environment in late 1998 to work with his brothers in the aquaculture industry. In his own time, Damian has also supported a number of not for profit organisations in a voluntary role.

Mr Scanlon holds a Bachelor of Economics (Flinders University of SA) and a Master of Business Administration (University of Adelaide) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
