The Handelshochschule Leipzig (HHL, Leipzig Graduate School of Management) and the University of Adelaide have signed an agreement for double degrees. This cooperation means that students of Master of Management degree the opportunity to pursue a double degree from both the HHL and the University of Adelaide. The announcement was made on Monday, 31st October, 2011.
According to a recent study at a university conference about master degrees with International double degree for the semester 2011/2012, only three percent of the 15,278 degrees at German universities offer the opportunity for double degrees.
“The double degree agreement with the University of Adelaide supports our strategy for internationalisation” says HHL Rektor Andreas Pinkwart. In addition to a mandatory semester abroad, the students have the have now the opportunity for a double degree with the University of Adelaie.
“We are very pleased about the new agreement with HHL, because it provides our students with far-reaching opportunities to gain fascinating experiences in Europe, while at the same time enjoying a high quality education” says the Dean of the Faculty of Professions Christopher Findlay from the University of Adelaide.
Germany being of the most important economic drivers of Europe, University of Adelaide and HHL students would benefit learning from each other. The University of Adelaide offers students from Leipzig a high quality education combined with international experience. As a partner of the so-called “Group of Eight” (a group comprising the best universities of Australia), “we are intensive research and provide quality teaching” Findlay says. Students who study in Australia do so in an international, open economic environment.
