This year’s Peter Edwards Memorial Lecture Emerging Forms of External Reporting and Assurance: Trends and Evidence of Benefit will be presented by Professor Roger Simnett from UNSW and will commence at 5.30pm on Thursday 10th November in Lecture Theatre GO4, Napier Building, University of Adelaide.
Roger is Macquarie Group Foundation Scientia Professor of Accounting at UNSW Australia Business School, Sydney, Australia.
He has played various leadership roles at the University and for the auditing profession. He has a background in standard setting, having served for the last 20 years on various standard setting bodies, including the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and the International Integrated Reporting Council working panel.
Roger is a recognized leading international researcher whose research interests cover a range of international auditing/assurance issues aimed at improving audit/assurance quality and making policy recommendations. He is the author of a leading auditing and assurance textbook, and has over 80 publications in the world’s leading journals including:
– The Accounting Review,
– Organizations and Society,
– Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory and Contemporary Accounting Research.
He has held or currently holds visiting or adjunct Professorial appointments at a number of institutions including Boston College, King College London and Maastricht University, and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.
