Adelaide Business School students take out the silver medal in the National UBS Investment Banking Challenge

Mark Samson, Matthew Hutchinson, Edward Oppes and James Moriarty who came second last month in the national UBS Investment Banking Challenge!

The UBS Challenge offers students an opportunity to test their skills on a real-life transaction and gain hands-on experience of work as an investment banking analyst.  Student teams present their findings and recommendations to judges at campus heats, and from there, the best teams are invited to the national finals.

Last month, Adelaide Business Students Society (ABSS) hosted the UBS Challenge at The University of Adelaide’s North Terrace campus.  Mark, Matthew, Edward and James won the local heat, which saw them flown to the UBS headquarters in Sydney (all expenses paid!).

Competition was fierce with representatives from other participating universities eager to secure the prestige of the win for themselves.  Our own ABS team, made up of Mark, Matthew, Edward and James finished second.  This is an outstanding achievement and continues the strong record Adelaide teams have at the national finals.

Understandably, the team look pretty pleased with themselves.  We think they should be!
Congratulations Mark, Matthew, Edward and James!
