Visualisation of Distributed Real-Time Systems

Nick Falkner is leading research into the development of visualisation capabilities of distributed and real-time systems data, including the use of cutting edge visualisation technology. This project explores the visualisation of both application data and architectural data available from software and hardware elements within the distributed system.

The main target for this visualisation work is to explore the performance of system execution models, gaining early insight into the future performance of complex, distributed software systems. We are exploring the visualisation potential of commercial hardware and graphics APIs, including the Pixelsense Sur40 Table, Kinect and Wii technology, and tablets for control and supplementary visual support.
