DOES CHINA HAVE BETTER ETHNIC POLICIES THAN THE USA AND INDIA?

The Confucius Institute in collaboration with the Adelaide Festival Centre are proud to present Barry Sautman for the 2013 Annual Lecture.

China has a diverse ethnic composition with some 55 national minority groups causing tensions to emerge at times. What should the Chinese government do to ensure ethnic equity and peace?

Presenting as part of the 2013 OzAsia Festival, Barry Sautman will be comparing the ethnic policies of China with those of the USA and India. Barry is a political scientist (PhD Columbia University) and lawyer with specializations in international law, China/US relations, contemporary China, ethnicity and nationalism. He is currently the Associate Professor for Social Science at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

More information is available on the OzAsia Festival website.
