The Australia China Development Company (TACDC), in partnership with the Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide, hosted a panel and networking event, ‘Shandong & Qingdao: Open for Business’, on February 4 2014. The event was in celebration of the new sister city relationship between Adelaide and Qingdao.
The panel was chaired by Luck Lombe, director of training and consulting company at Echelon One. The panel consisted of experts who have years of experience engaging South Australia in the China market and provided an overview of doing business in China, and focused on SA’s wine and seafood opportunities in China, particularly in Qingdao. The panel consisted of:
- Ex Federal Minister the Hon. Chris Schacht, Chairman of TACDC
- Tony Royal, Managing Director, Portavin Integrated Wine Services
- Director of development consultancy company Transpac-SA George Vanco.
- Kimberley Larsen former Marketing Project Manager for Education Adelaide
The event was widely attended by representatives from government and industry and sparked lively conversation between attendees and panelists.
The Confucius Institute is honoured to have participated in this TACDC events and looks forward to further promoting the new sister city relationship in 2014.
