Dr Claudia Szabo has been appointed to the newly created role of Associate Dean (Diversity & Inclusion) for the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Adelaide.

This new role is aimed at improving the Faculty’s diversity in both its staff and student cohorts. Diversity is defined in broad terms, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and women being key groups that should be better represented in the Faculty. In addition to increasing the diversity of our ECMS community, this role also oversees the inclusion of diverse groups into the work of the Faculty and the development of cultural competency initiatives within our community. The support and retention of diversity groups is just as important as their recruitment.
