The School warmly welcomes Dr Christoph Treude, who has recently joined us as a Senior Lecturer in the School.
Christoph Treude received the Diplom degree in computer science/management information systems from the University of Siegen, Germany, in 2007 and the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Victoria, Canada, in 2012. After PostDocs in Canada and Brazil, he has recently joined the School of Computer Science at the University of Adelaide as a Senior Lecturer.
The goal of his research is to advance software engineering through empirical studies and the innovation of processes and tools. In his research, he uses a mix of research methods ranging from grounded theory and interviews to mining software repositories to gain a better understanding of the complex nature of software development. Based on the understanding obtained from these studies, he then develops and evaluates tool support for different stakeholders involved in software engineering projects, including newcomers and managers, using Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, and Statistics. This tool support ranges from summarizers and improved search engines for software documentation to interactive visualizations and awareness tools for collaborative software engineering.
