Dr Rebecca Vivian Keynote for Computational Thinking Conference in NSW

Dr Rebecca Vivian will be presenting a Keynote for the Professional Excellence and Innovation Centre Computational Thinking conference in Port Macquarie on the 22nd of June, 2015.

This interdisciplinary cross-sector event will cover the key questions of  why and how to teach computational thinking in a K-10 classroom across all key learning areas. The conference and workshops will answer questions such as:

  • What is Computational Thinking?
  • Why should I teach computational thinking?
  • How do I teach coding, robotics, makerspaces and other innovative learning in K-10 classrooms?
  • How do I link computational thinking to the Board of Studies NSW Syllabus?

Rebecca will also present a workshop based on “plugged” and “unplugged” activities that highlight Computational Thinking, from the CSER Digital Technologies MOOCs. Participants will engage in learning activities and will be exposed to ideas from the CSER MOOC teaching community
