Once again, the CSER Team is delighted to be collaborating in 2018 with The Smith Family to support schools in low socio-economic areas to engage with Digital Technology and in particular to encourage participation in the Young ICT Explorers (YICTE) Competition.

The Smith Family ‘Accelerator Program’ works with identified Smith Family schools to support them in submitting a project to the Young ICT Explorers competition. The Program aims to increase the digital skills and confidence of teachers and students. Schools receive teacher professional development (supported by CSER Project Officers), digital technology hardware for school projects, industry mentoring and guidance in submitting a project to the YICTE competition.

Last year all of the Smith Family schools that participated in the Accelerator Program and participated in CSER professional development went on to present at their state final. We are looking forward to working with a new group of schools this year and wish all participants the best of luck with their projects.
