The Don Dunstan Foundation welcomes Cathie King

In March of this year the wonderful Bill Cossey AM retired, as the Foundation’s inaugural Chair of the Board of Management, after 15 years in the role. In his usual style he chose to do so quietly and with limited fanfare. Bill had served with absolute dedication, giving freely of his time, and bringing a rich source of expertise and unparalleled diplomacy to his activities. The Foundation is extremely grateful to Bill and wishes him all the best for the future.

We are very happy to announce our new Chair, Cathie King. Cathie has a strong history of working in policy development and in political environments. She spent many years working for the Australian Labor Party including roles as a National Organiser based in Canberra, in the Premiers Office for Premiers Bannon and Arnold and in the electorate office of the Member for Norwood, Greg Crafter. Cathie served on the State Executive of the Labor Party and on a variety of social policy committees.

Cathie established her own public relations and communications business in 2004 advising major Australian companies, peak bodies and not for profit organisations. She is currently a Director of EML Pty Ltd and EML SA, Deputy Chair of Adelaide Fringe Inc, a Director of Common Ground and Member of the Board of ResourceCo Pty Ltd.

The Foundation takes great pleasure in welcoming Cathie and looks forward to a bright, new era of activity.
