ECIC Fellow Wins James McWha Award of Excellence

Charlie Hargroves

Congratulations to Charlie Hargroves on winning the James McWha Award of Excellence.

This award has been named in honour of Professor James McWha AO, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Adelaide 2002 – 2012, in recognition of his significant contribution to the advancement of the alumni relations program during his leadership. It recognises outstanding alumni who have graduated from the University of Adelaide within the past 15 years and are making a significant contribution as emerging leaders within their profession and/or within their community.

Charlie graduated in 2000, and in the following 12 years has achieved an outstanding level of international profile in the field of Sustainable Development. Charlie has led a team to deliver four international books on sustainable development that have sold over 80,000 copies in four languages (over 1,650 pages in total). Further to this Charlie has co-authored 17 book chapters, 32 magazine articles, 18 industry reports, 14 conference papers, and 5 journal papers. Charlie has also co-authored over 100 free access lecture sets on sustainable development targeted at high school, TAFE, university and professional development. He is a shining light for our current and future graduates.

Charlie is currently the Sustainable Development Fellow (Adjunct) at the ECIC and is in the final stages of completing his doctoral thesis.
