The Australian eChallenge Venture Showcase was held on Wednesday 28th of August in Bonython Hall. The stunning hall had a festive air with the band JC Jazz playing and the 28 semi-finalist teams eager for questions and comments as they showcased their concepts.
The teams reported that the feedback they received helped crystallise their ideas and allowed them to refine their pitch about their concept. They also found that they were able to test the market and gauge interest in their concept.
Assembled teams and guests enjoyed speeches from Prof Christopher Findlay, Executive Dean, Faculty of the Professions, and Chris Griffiths, Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs, Adelaide Airport Limited. Previous winners My Wine World gave us a “where they are now” update on their business. Prof Noel Lindsay, Director at ECIC was the MC for the evening.
The Best Presentation at Venture Showcase prize of $250 cash and a Canon Camera worth $250 was awarded to Maker Gym.
The semi-finalists teams will submit their business plans later this month and pitch to the judging panel in October. The 2013 Australian eChallenge finalist teams will be announced on Friday 18th October.
