Young Space Leader First Australian to Receive AIAA Lawrence Sperry Award

After being named one of the International Astronautical Federation’s five Young Space Leaders of 2013, Dr Kimberley Clayfield has recently received the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Lawrence Sperry Award for 2014.

Graduating with Honours in Mechanical Engineering in 1999 and a PhD in 2005, Dr Clayfield, Executive Manager for CSIRO’s Space Sciences and Technology activity is the first Australian to ever receive this award.
