Thesis project explained in just three minutes, using only one PowerPoint slide? That’s the challenge of the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT)!
Registrations are now open for this unique opportunity to share your innovative ideas and creativity with a non-specialist audience.
The ability to effectively communicate research impact is a skill that all researchers must develop, particularly in a competitive funding environment. Open to PhD* students who have completed their major review, 3MT is the perfect opportunity to hone your research communication, presentation and public speaking skills, not to mention self confidence.
ECMS participants will have the opportunity to attend information sessions, participate in practice sessions and seek constructive feedback before competing in the Faculty Heat.
Prizes will be awarded to two winning students in the Faculty Heat, as selected by a judging panel. These students then proceed to the University Final, with the 3MT culminating in a national competition in Queensland in October.
Registrations close Tuesday 30 June 2015.
* Masters by Research students are encouraged to participate at faculty level to gain experience only.
