Electronic Project Officer

The AIS is responsible for leading and enabling a united high performance system that supports Australian athletes to achieve podium success. The AIS are increasing our capacity to deliver technology to Australian Sport, and an integral part of that technology is electronic.  Capturing data, processing data, building and supporting electronic systems are functions used by elite athletes every day.  At the AIS we aim to deliver leading edge or beyond leading edge solutions to provide competitive advantage.

As part of the Applied Technology and Innovation (AT&I) team at the AIS, you will join the engineering team responsible for engineered solutions to sport’s challenges in data collection and competition resources.  Leading edge solutions relying on latest technology in high resolution, high speed cameras, high accuracy GPS, motion and acceleration capture, coaching resources and biomechanical data collection are all part of your daily workspace.

You shall exhibit strong electronic skill in design, build and implementation.  Working alongside software and hardware engineers, you will provide circuit board design and build as well as system design and integration of technical systems.  You will also be responsible for implementation of systems in the sport environment. 

The preferred location for this position is Canberra and the role will be offered as a full time, fixed term position until 18 December 2020
