Dr Marion Koler discusses economics career paths with students from St Dominic’s Priory College
The School of Economics was pleased to host a talk organised by the Economics Teachers’ Society of SA on Wednedsay 13 August 2014.
The guest speaker, Dr Marion Kohler, Deputy Head of Economic Analysis, Reserve Bank of Australia gave an address on: ‘Current Economic Conditions and Monetary Policy’, and spoke to a full house. The top year 12 students currently studying Economics at Adelaide secondary schools were invited to the talk, and Dr Kohler commented on the high calibre of interesting questions fielded by the students.
The students also had the opportunity to mingle with the speaker and academic staff from the university at the supper that was provided afterwards.
Following the address, Associate Professor Ralph Bayer introduced the new Bachelor of Economics (Advanced) course being offered by the university, and the requirements for entry.
We look forward to seeing some of these bright students at the School of Economics next year!
