The School of Economics was proud to host Professor Alison Booth, from the Australian National University who delivered the 2017 annual Joseph Fisher Lecture. Professor Booth’s lecture entitled“Choosing to Compete: How Different are Men and Women?” drew a large audience who were also very keen to ask questions after the presentation.
Alison Booth is Professor of Economics and Public Policy Fellow at the Australian National University, and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), London and of the IZA Bonn. She obtained her PhD from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. Booth is Founding Fellow and past President of the European Association of Labour Economists (EALE), and was Editor-in-chief of Labour Economics from 1999-2004.
