Ecoriders!

Thanks to those of you who made it to the launch last night, it was great to see so much enthusiasm!

Please use this post to add comments in the form of questions/stories etc. I’ll also be using the blog to post the score board each week so please save this link to your favourites. As Paul mentioned last night, you and your cycling journey will help inspire others to make a positive change for themselves and the environment.

Congratulations and happy cycling!

Hey Libby, i think the flexibility results are still not quite right, as much as i’d love to be able to say i’m very flexible, i’m not. I wasn’t able to touch my toes! Maybe there was a similar mistake made with my groups results as with the first group?

Done: registered for 13 October and hoping to see some of the others are Victoria Square that morning. The lure of free breakfast and helmet-hair-repair is too great to resist.

Completely into the cycling now – I can’t believe I used to resist riding into university. The panniers (thanks Ecoversity) have revolutionised my riding. I often cart piles of books back and forth and having a heavy rucksack on my back was destablising, not to mention sweaty!

Any feedback for BicycleSA on the courses we did? I’ve had a few positive comments via email from some of you about the maintenance course in particular which is great. Anyway love to hear your thoughts!

      Hi Libby,

I really liked the basic riding course they did where we rode around the cones etc. It was really helpful just for gaining confidence as I hadn’t ridden my bike for quite a few years!

    Hi all,

I just thought I’d write to say ‘hey’.

Also I came across the iPhone free app, Rider Log (http://www.bv.com.au/ride-to-work/91481/) whilst signing up for Ride To Work. Not only does it record your ride in your phone (including elapsed time, average speed, cumulative distance and time over the week and month), but it also (anonymously!) uploads this information to convince authorities to invest in locations where people ride and therefore improve the planning of bike infrastructure.

    Sounds pretty cool to me!

    Cheers,
    Tara.
