Ecoversity is proud to support ‘Womad EARTH STATION’ – a unique festival exploring our relationship with the planet alongside extraordinary music from around the world.
Earth Station, WOMADelaide’s new sister festival – is an opportunity to receive and transmit ideas, issues and solutions towards a more sustainable planet. The festival will inspire with a refreshing and rare combination of discussion and music during a weekend of forums, displays and performances.
During the day, hear from a range of speakers including US geology professor Steve Pekar, former US vice president Al Gore’s chief-of-staff Roy Neel, Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton, presenter Robyn Williams, Australian comic Rod Quantock, and Peter Cosier, executive director of the Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists. By night, be entertained by an eclectic music program featuring everything from the percussive fireworks of Zakir Hussain to the gentle sounds of Wu Man’s pipa; and Abdullah Ibrahim’s incredible jazz piano to Mista Savona’s exuberant dancehall beats.
The University of Adelaide is proud to be an Earth Station sponsor, and invites you to visit Ecoversity and TERN stall at the event. Come and talk with us about sustainability on campus and how we can empower, educate and inspire each other to reduce our resource footprint.
