Tall Poppy Nominations open for 2018

Nominations are open for this year’s “Tall Poppy Award”, the prestigious annual Young Tall Poppy Science Awards aim to recognise the achievements of Australia’s outstanding young scientific researchers and communicators.

Each year the Tall Poppy Awards recognise individuals who combine world-class research with a passionate commitment to communicating science and who demonstrate great leadership potential.

The Award winners (‘Tall Poppies’) participate in education and community outreach programs in which they become role models to inspire school students and the broader community about the possibilities of science. This involves a range of other science promotion activities for school students, teachers and the broader community, including visits to schools, educational seminars, workshops, public talks and other activities.

The 2018 awards are open to applicants working in all fields of science, including biomedical, engineering, mathematics, technology and other applied or cross disciplinary sciences. Nominees must be no more than 35 years of age as at the nomination closing date. More information available here.

Nominations for the annual Young Tall Poppy Science Awards for 2017 open today and close Monday the 9th of April, and for more information see the The Australian Institute of Policy and Science website.
