Upcoming Three Minute Thesis final

Good luck to School of Agriculture, Food and Wine PhD Candidate Isobel Hume, who is a Three Minute Thesis (3MT) finalist and will present her research on ‘Urban Food Security’ at tomorrow’s 3MT Final!

Isobel is a student of Environment Institute’s Soil Scientist Prof Tim Cavagnaro.

The 3MT competition involves explaining years of research, or their 100,000 word thesis, in three minutes, using only one PowerPoint slide. The ability to effectively communicate research impact is a skill that all researchers must develop. Following fierce competition in the University heats, the 10 finalists will compete for the main prize, with the winner going on to compete in the Asia Pacific finals.

Tomorrow’s competition will be held as a special Research Tuesdays event and you can attend online or in person. An expert panel will judge the presentations, and you can have your say in the People’s Choice Award.
