Future Making Fellowships applications open

Applications are now being accepted for the University of Adelaide’s Future Making Fellowships Scheme.

The University of Adelaide Future Making Fellowships Scheme has been established to attract and support early-career and mid-career researchers of outstanding research calibre and potential, who will be based in the University’s Research Institutes.

Scope and Support

The Scheme provides research-only fellowships of three years duration.

Successful Fellows will be employed within one of the University’s Research Institutes. They will report to the Institute Director with possible co-supervision by senior researcher(s) affiliated with the Institute.

Each Fellowship provides a full salary plus on-costs, together with an additional, one-off research establishment grant of $50k and a contribution of $5k toward relocation costs for interstate applicants and $10k for international applicants. The starting salary will be based on the track record of the Fellow and any special circumstances applicable and must be consistent with the University’s Enterprise Agreement.

Fellowships must be aligned with a Research Mission in at least one of the University of Adelaide FAME (Foci and Magnets for Excellence) Strategies:

  • Agrifood and Wine
  • Digi Plus
  • Healthy Societies
  • Sustainability.

Successful applicants will be supported and required to apply for independent, externally-funded, nationally-competitive fellowships.

Applicants must be early-career or mid-career researchers who do not hold an Australian Fellowship (other than an ARC DECRA or NHMRC EL1 Investigator grant), or an on-going appointment (or an offer of an on-going appointment) at the University of Adelaide at the time of application.

Applicants must have been awarded a PhD, and have between 2 and 10 years postdoctoral experience (relative to opportunity) at the time of the closing date for applications.  It is envisaged appointments will range from Level A to the lower-range of Level C.
