Since my appointment as Chief Financial Officer late last year, I have been part of an exciting new era for the University of Adelaide including the development of a new Capital Management Plan which anticipates a number of significant projects, particularly within the Faculty of Health Sciences, the successful opening of Hub-Central and more recently, the appointment of the University’s 20th Vice-Chancellor and President.
The Financial Services Branch has also experienced various changes, including a number of new staff appointments and the commencement of several major projects for focus in 2012, these projects include;
- Financial Planning Model & Process Review
- eCommerce Implementation Project
- Procurement Model & Cost Review
- Travel & Entertainment Review
- Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance
- PeopleSoft Patching and new functionality roll-out
Our latest endeavours have also included updating the Financial Services website and the launch of a Financial Service blog which aims to bring you the latest news and events relating to the branch and its objectives. Our aim is to keep you up to date and informed about what’s going on in Financial Services at the University of Adelaide.
I recommend visiting our newly designed website and having a look around. Familiarise and remind yourself of the variety of services the Financial Services Branch provides and how best to access these services.
We hope you enjoy,
Tony Mitchell
