The Global Learning Office has had a busy start to the year!
At present we have just under 200 students on a semester exchange, in 20 countries around the world. All of these students are at one of our overseas partner universities, experiencing a new education system, a different student lifestyle, travelling the world and immersing themselves in a new culture. While some will come back at the end of this semester, others will remain overseas for the full year! All of these students can expect to bring some new perspectives and some academic credit back to Adelaide with them.
There are also 240 students preparing to go on exchange in Semester 2, 2016 to 21 countries. They’re now preparing to travel, applying to their host institutions and getting ready for a trip of a lifetime! If you are one of these students, your Pre-Departure Session is coming up on May 19. We’ll be sending you more information in the coming days!
Meanwhile, 15 study tour groups have already taken off this year (three overseas right now!) – these students are completing a University of Adelaide course in an overseas location. They’ve travelled to countries including Germany, Cambodia, China, Japan, New Zealand, India, South Korea, Austria, the UK, Singapore and Oman. We have another 15 study tours ready to launch this Winter School.
All up, we’re expecting at least 1800 students will take part in a Global Learning Experience by the end of the year!
Our staff are available via phone and email 9am-5pm every weekday, and in person 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday, to help students prepare for all of these exciting experiences.

Are you wondering how you can get involved in one of these amazing overseas experiences?
The next round for exchange applications, for departure in Semester 1, 2017, closes on June 17. If you’re interested in applying, we’d recommend you start ASAP as you need to obtain pre-approval from your Faculty as part of the application process.
Study Tours are open for applications throughout the year, depending on when you’d like to go.

You can also participate in programs outside of exchange and study tours – see what else is around on our Short Programs page here.
If you have a quick question, consider taking part in our Twitter Q&A at 3pm on Friday, 22 April! Use our hashtag #uaglobal to get through to us.
