Earlier in the week the Commonwealth government announced that they would provide the $5.991M required for the Dental School’s proposed “Riverland Oral Health Centre”.
The Centre will be the focus for Oral Health activities in the Riverland Region of South Australia and enhance the clinical education and research opportunities for dental and oral health students.
Work at the Riverland General Hospital site in Berri will commence in March 2016 and when completed the 740 square metre centre will have 10 dental chairs for University students and staff and for the SA Dental Service activities based in the region. In addition to the reception, administration, laboratory and there will be teaching areas, provisions for online learning and staff and research offices.
The development is an exciting part of the Dental School’s new Dental Partnership plans.
