The new HSW Handbook Chapter “ Preventing and responding to Workplace Bullying and Harassment” has now been posted on the HSW Website.
This revision aims to:
- ensure that the process provides clear direction on how and who staff can access, to provide them with support and information (i.e. via their Supervisor/Manager and/or a trained network of Fair Treatment Contact Officers), should they believe they have been subject to workplace bullying or harassing behaviours in the workplace;
- clarify how the concerns about bullying and harassing behaviour are (1) acknowledged; (2) mediated informally (where possible); or (3) managed in accordance with the University Behaviour and Conduct Policy, Staff Complaints Procedure, and/or the misconduct/serious misconduct provisions of the Enterprise Agreement (where applicable); and
- clarify that student complaints are excluded from the scope of the process and are to be managed in accordance with the Student Grievance Resolution process.
Could you please advise/disseminate this information, to the relevant workers in your Schools/Branches, in accordance with your School/Branch consultation arrangements.
