PhD Research – Soccer’s key role in helping migrants to adjust

Congratulations to Geography, Environment and Population PhD graduate Justin Civitillo, who researched the important role that soccer has played in helping migrants to adjust to their new lives in Australia.

For the first time, Justin has been able to show a direct correlation between the sport and the integration of migrants into Australian society.

Justin is hoping that his research will encourage policy makers to include sport in the government’s structured Onshore Orientation Program.

See the University’s News & Events for a detailed article.
