SEEDS – Australian Youth Climate Coalition

This year Seth Westhead has taken on the role of SEED state coordinator for SA.

SEED is the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander branch of the AYCC (Australian Youth Climate Coalition) with the goal of stopping distructive mining on Aboriginal land across the country and advocating for renewable energy transitions. Some of the campaigns SEED has worked on is the STOP ADANI coal mine project in QLD and also the fight to ban fracking in the NT.

Some more info on SEED can be found here – http://www.seedmob.org.au/our_story

This year as the SA SEED state coordinator it’s my job to get passionate youth from all over SA together to bring about some change in the space of climate justice. Compared to other states such as WA and QLD, SEED in SA is relatively new. Coming up in April we have a Summit that will be held in Brisbane and I would love to get a representation from SA’s there. SEED is open to anyone who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is under the age of 30.

If you have any questions or need any clarity feel free to email Seth Westhead on seth.westhead@student.adelaide.edu.au or alternatively Seth will be attending the student BBQ this Friday and happy to answer any questions.
